ようこそ Time Travelers. It’s already time for another installment of Mad Haus! We’re going back to the big city for New York New York pt. 2.
Some late 20th century futurists posited a theory that, after we created the atom bomb, every moment afterwards became more and more impossible. We would find out later that it was time splitting apart at the seams. You may have noticed it in small ways here and there – an impossible color in a dream, a taste that you can only imagine, a smell you can only remember, a little shadow at the corner of your eye. Once the seams got wide enough, we learned to live in them.
For the non time-traveler, It’s best to think of New York City, or any place, like a song written across time and space. Every little life that lives and dies there adds a tiny note, or a rest, or a bit of percussion. Only a few people know the whole song, and even fewer can sing it. Fewer still know how to change it. Even the ones that do know they shouldn’t. Some still do – for love, or profit, or for fun. Some do it for more sinister ends, with hate and destruction swishing in their hearts (or what have you) like a shadowy ballast.
New York is a favorite gathering place for these creatures. When people called it the center of the universe they were only half-wrong.
All of that was quite a lot. Are you still with us? You probably have questions. “What is Mad Haus?” for example. That’s a good question. Mad Haus is the next in an theatrical series from the minds of the The Mad Men of Oopsy Daisy Inc! Ben Hart & Brandon James, the creative team behind the Seacoasts’ recent theatrical smash hits: Avenue Q, Reefer Madness, Rocky Horror Live, Bitter Pill, Rock Of Ages and Spring Awakening, A New Brain. It’s more than that though. Mad Haus is a celebration at the seams of time and space, along with everyone participating. Mad Haus is you too, if you join us inside it.
Our multi-dimensional/time travel art, song and dance saga continues as the Mad Haus tribe brings together Cirque, Theatre, Vaudeville, Dance, Drag, Fashion, Shadow Work, Burlesque, Live Visual Arts, Technological Innovations, Performance Art and Puppetry, to create a fully immersive sight and sound celebration. These 20+ multi-disciplined artists, experts in their respective fields, will bring you an un-ending swirl of artistic celebration spanning across too many genres to list! ‘Mad Haus’ is the artistic playground for dozens of professional artists – who come together from all over the country to flex their creative muscles on the New Hampshire seacoast in this one-night-only living, breathing, speaking, singing, dancing, performance art installation backed by our Mad Haus Band regularly featuring dozens of unique and interesting instruments.
