Join us for the first of four JAZZ LANGUAGE lectures at PMAC this year. In celebration of Thelonious Monk’s centennial, Eric Klaxton will provide biographical and historical context for the man and his music. Topics of discussion will include his vast body of work, influences, and his contributions to jazz and beyond. Monk had a unique sense of style that has left a lasting impression. The sphere of influence surrounding Monk and his work continues to shape not only American music, but music around the world.
